A Grander Inclination by Jeffrey ParrenThis life
is about survival.
Somehow
the focus
from living
changed.
Brushing away tears
others cannot see
masked within words
on a computer screen.
It seems these letters
combined with one another
give a grander inclination
of companionship
than my recent dating history.
To say the choices poor
is a mistaken statement.
I've given this beating thing
more than once, here I am.
To insult the present
by scoffing at the past
is poor form, though
denying who I am
perchance is worse.
The madness is knowing
while unable to attain.
I fear the years grow
as my desire fades.
Disenchantment.
The world's a folly
and I'm falling into
the role of follower. 12/06/2011 Posted on 12/06/2011 Copyright © 2024 Jeffrey Parren
