Once upon a time

by Keith D Allison

In the winter
when the snow did fall
the ice crystals danced upon the glass
the mind craved
the flavors of spring

The lips of two lovers
Did meet in a song
a kiss speaking of forever
they knew the warm of their star
in the cold night

But the eyes of the world
did not favor a song
blood and wars
the distance of Ocean's
like waves holding them apart

A lifetime looking
to fill an empty heart
the flowers of spring
in grassy landscape
a little picket fence
a tree and a stone

Once upon a time
two lovers
did
kiss

Beautiful Keith..and perhaps once again those lovers will kiss. Most often intentions are well meaning but somehow it gets lost amongst the winds of change. Thank you

I agree, beautiful, the last stanza rings in my mind after 've finished reading it, makes me wonder, will they kiss again?
