Love an Alpha Female if You Dare by James ZealyIf you don't know an alpha female
It is diffcult to understand
Why Her path is not traditional
They are a force of nature
Hearts riding precariously on their sleeve
Who Cry in private when there best efforts
Collapse in front of them
There is no patience
For meaningless phrases
That say nothing
Their focus is forcing events
To comply with their will
Sowing a field of comfortable space
To love them, is difficult
At times Beyond possible
At times beyond rewarding
They do not trust others
To keep them safe
To keep them safe
They do not trust others
To get it right
To get it right
They do not trust others
To share their hurt
To share their hurt
Loving them means understanding fragility
Is their constant demon
Spawning an anxiety riden load of energy
Spent escaping fear of loss
Fear of hurt
Fear of neglect
Fear of lonliness
Control is their trusted tool
To pave their path to peace
Until it isn't
When her storm of kinetic force stops
She is a shell of helplessness
Awaiting her final resting place 11/25/2011
Author's Note: I wrote a comment on Dawn Davidson's peom Alpha Female Attitudes. She suggested I make it a poem. Dawn be careful what you ask for, I hope you like it. All kidding aside, my wife is an Alpha Female, still fighting even though she is a shell of herself. The day she stops is the day she dies.

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 11/25/11 at 08:01 PM I do appreciate your point of view, James. I see some of myself in those lines, too, although, personally, the last verse isn't true of all of us. Heh. Thank you for taking Dawn's suggestion (thanks to Dawn for making it) and running with it on this work!! Beautifully done!! |
Posted by Mo Couts on 11/26/11 at 02:14 AM James, this is DELIGHTFUL! I like to think this describes me most of the time, lol. |
Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 11/27/11 at 02:19 AM The "trust" issues of the Alpha Female is spot on. Love this piece. Thanks to both you and Dawn for the complimentary works. This made my heart hurt... I thought we kept our secrets and emotions in-check. Kudos to your wife for her inspiration within this work! ~N |
