The Illiterates

by Jody Pratt

He calls it a horned serpent
when he talks about crowns,
knowing meditated imagery
is crystal clear but
eyes color space.

He blames the merchants,
not the men that build markets.
They blame the serpents and
the merchants, to their undue.

We etched a time machine but,
with his stamp of approval
most won't read the telemetry.

“Open our eyes,” some beg of him.
“Open your hearts,” he replies.

The message lost.

What is like best is the sound "etched" makes when I read this aloud...the crystal clear scene inward feels its transparency. Secondly, and almost as much I like the fact I blame the same merchents not market makers...in a general way, seeing now with open eyes and heart. Thanks!

To me this sounds so much like the political debates and how those may fail to hear..it isn't so much what you read but what you truly see. Most excellent!

It's true, we don't look deep enough. This is most eloquently expressed. I enjoy it thoroughly.
