An Innocent Warning.

by Dorian Black

Somewhere across these chemical skies (and recurring dreams)
where my screams (and blood soaked tomes)
accosted these shattered dreams (and broken homes)
I wish that someone would have told us, (not that it would matter now)
that our innocence would die. (In your basements of disguise)

A parenthetical frame to display the progression of gray to black....

I enjoyed the poem, Dorian - welcome to the site - but Laura's play on your name, via the poem, really cracked me up.
