Watching Cheers re-runs by Meghan HelmichLast night, I painted my fingernails
with a bottle of "red carpet"
that I stole from the drug store
around the corner.
I try to keep my conquests
in the neighborhood
of walking or running distance
from my apartment,
in case of a burglar.
It's not exactly a high-caliber area
where everybody knows your name,
rank, and serial number,
But some keep it written down
for the day when you end up in the street
under a chameleon '57 Chevy
with spinning rims.
Even these hoodlums can appreciate
a classic. 11/17/2011 Posted on 11/17/2011 Copyright © 2024 Meghan Helmich
