food for thought

by Angie Jenkins

swallow the scrumptious synonyms I project
taste the tantalizing talk reverberating from my cheeks
inhale deeply the delicious melodies I disperse and
let their lyrics lick up your insides like lemonade
allow the arousing aroma and sugary
diction to dance upon your delighted tongue
until your soul is filled to the brim from my phonetic phraseology
you can choose to spit out the sour notes
or politely spit them into your satin napkin,
pretending not to be affected by the expressions I exude
but you shall never starve as long as you swallow my sweet symphony
and dare to drink down the drip-drops of dialogue I discuss.
starvation isn’t real – not really –
all you need is the correct communication to
cleanse your parched and pining palette.

I may have a "sugary diction" to this poem. Very well done, I applaud you with these keystrokes!
