Through A Glass by Craig AllenI sit here and stare out the window,
glimpsing bits of the world from within
the confines of my garret sanctuary.
It is my old friend, this window,
handing me the occasional inspiration,
another tidbit to write down.
It shows me the changing seasons,
bright colors of fall, deep greens
of summer, pearl white of the winter
sun on snow, glaring up at me as I
stare back, admiring each sparkling,
frozen crystal.
There goes the neighbor's ass,
escaped once again from it's stable
on some donkeyxote adventure.
This window has been with me
a long time, and I wait patiently
for it to show me the next poem.
