you pull your ring
off and on
depending upon your mood,
your whim, fancy
or platitude.
I can still see the white ring
left hidden from the sun
what has begun?
is it all so bad
that leaves you rather sad?
keep your ring
close to your heart
in this you will impart
a love, a longing,
suffice it to say a belonging
to all that is real
in your life
as you remain someone elses wife
