Lets Forget

by Bert Williams

Do you remember that night
Of course you do, love of mine
Your dirty hands traced my scars
We sank in the land that had our hearts
You finally saw me
Under the light
You willingly killed me
On that empty night

The taste of alcohol
Still on your lips
You watched me fall
And held my hips
I kept my hands
You kept yours on me
We could not stand
We did not bleed

Did you forget that night
The one that was mine
You found me on the bathroom floor
A discovery, nothing more
My mind was gone
My eyes were sore
And we both knew
I had nowhere to go

Do you remember that summer night
Dear old love, old love of mine
When i left a note on the door
You found it only seconds before
You found me
On the concrete
On the other side
Of a vicious lie

Bleeding on your white picket fence
Oh how could you forget...

The taste of alcohol
Still on your lips
Now in the hospital
My body throwing fits
You kept me still by my shacking hips
Pinning my arms that were slick from the blood
I didn't mean to take you with me as we drowned in the flood

Do you remember that night
You finally saw me
Under the hospital lights
