i can't understand why we betray ourselves,
why we take up knitting to keep our hands from being
idle and why we kiss each other
because silence breathes heavy on our necks.
i can't understand why things feel left open
only when you've got nothing behind you
and the laughs i hear behind my back
are really cries
for help.

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 10/13/11 at 08:24 AM eva...your work still pulls me in. i like the brevity here...the ginsu sharpness of your words, not overly decorative...but crafted well enough to punch us all in the face and kick us in the shins. keep it solid little lady...xoxo |
