under the knife of the october moon

by Peter Hsu

under the knife of the october moon
i loved you young
when we couldn't live with silence
i loved you for miles and miles and miles

but time is iron like the womb
and now in my memory
i walk past your home
wondering where you live
alone

on the cold cold ground
i climb up all i know
spring escapes me with a whisper
and dissolves into the clouds of fall

under the knife
i love you older
for silent moonlit miles
miles
miles

Miles and miles, but beauty, truth, and raw emotion expressed so simply, without being underdone. Awesome. Sheer awesome.

I would imagine you couldn't even put a number on how many miles. This was great.
