Immortal Murmur by Alison McKenzieBut my value cannot be measured
In dollars, nor days,
Nor will you find it
In this form called “my body”,
Nor on the cemetery’s markers.
I am vibration,
I am music.
I am flight.
I am wind.
I am grey skies, and blue.
I am earth,
And I am sea.
I am All that Is,
And the space betwixt.
I am the beheld;
I am the witness.
I am not all that you see
With those gifted eyes;
So much more than most eyes can gather,
And so much less than this representation,
Which carries my soul,
Which anchors me in gravity.
When I seem gone from you,
I am not,
Nor you from me
For it is in the timeless
Measures of experience
That love’s thread
Weaves our cores,
One into another,
Until our resonance bends
Toward eternity once again.
