Clandestine by Jeffrey Parrenlurking in the darkness
is a version of yourself
perhaps you've seen before
and forgotten about
or one unbeknownst to you.
a version of you
somehow better
than ever felt.
this clandestine creature
hides itself in fear.
that anguish is result
of prior pain
and the learned response
that caring and love
are the bearers
of unidentifiable affliction.
it cowers in the corner
afraid to take another leap
expecting differing results.
love is insanity.
it's the act
of caring so much
that makes you toss and turn.
love is unconditional.
and it's
the most
damn
remarkable thing
when it's done
right. 09/28/2011 Posted on 09/28/2011 Copyright © 2024 Jeffrey Parren
