kelp medusa

by Jennifer Truesdale

sea salt tangles
cast myself out.
you reel me in,
swollen tissue
and broken limbs.
I am out of the forest,
my mind thick with thoughts
that i try to break in the waves,
forming fingerprints in the sand
where I could not hold on
no matter how hard you pulled.

I let go.

Strange ‘n interesting, you have used many of my favorite images in a fresh and mysterious way. I read this one a few times; beautiful, simple, natural and painful. Applauding now!
