My sister called today
I was happy to hear her voice

I had not spoken to her in months
not her fault
...mine
I was too
self absorbed
to talk to her

I had my own problems
things to work out
I didn't really want
to talk to anyone
except my kids

My life is a bad
soap opera
I hope it gets cancelled!

I will see my sister
this week
or next
She wanted to know
what I wanted
her to bring

I said:
just bring yourself
it'll be enough

For once
I told the truth
