Security by Jeffrey ParrenSecurity is the blanket
best worn during cool nights
for comfort and relaxation.
It shall not be donned
during bouts of survival.
These cold winters of life
are better fought
than endured.
So, as I leave
my favorite fleece
in the corner
having thrown it there,
I stand profoundly strong
in this time of squalor.
I'll wear that security
when I feel
somewhat secure,
if ever. 09/18/2011 Posted on 09/18/2011 Copyright © 2024 Jeffrey Parren

"I stand profoundly strong
in this time of squalor" Not a wasted word. |
