Coming Back

by Jared Orlando

Coming back
After months of writer's block
I feel heavy,
As if I carried boulders for way
Too long, and
Allowed no time for rest
No time for speaking
My English is broken
And my bones screech against
One other
The focus for Form,
For Alliteration
For Substance
Is just out of reach
I'm a bit rusty,
But it's just coming back
The bittersweetness
The welcome homes
The tightly made bed
Awaiting your weathered frame

Strikes me as one of the better forms of exhaustion out there. Nice.
