Piery's Shore XI

by Leonard M Hawkes

A wild wind--free--
Whips and gusts and
Rips along this strip
Between the peaks
And the shore:

Stirring up the thunder,
Driving spring rain horizontal,
Blizzarding the winter--

But tonight, taunting,
Shaking, whispering perhaps
In subtlties; as I
Regretfully keep this
Anniversary, alone.
