If wishes... by Monique LouwMy mind burns with the memory of your kiss
One sweet moment of absolute bliss
A twist in my heart in the shape of you
And I wonder if any of this was ever true.
I curse the universe for the choice I had to make
For the path I would have to take
To say goodbye to you
Was the most painful thing to do.
There is no art to go with the feeling of a broken heart
No song to capture the sound of it tearing apart.
Sympatico, you and me.
But then... you and me and she makes three.
And I was always a girl for perfect primes
And imperfect rhymes.
I chose the pain
and I would choose it again
I am nothing you see,
without my integrity. 08/30/2011 Posted on 08/30/2011 Copyright © 2025 Monique Louw

| Posted by Mo Couts on 08/31/11 at 08:11 AM Ahh, yes, if only wishes were this, that, and the next thing...sometimes the hardest and most painful decisions we'll ever have to make are the best ones for ourselves. You not only reminded us of that, here, but did it with style and grace to boot. |
