To plunge (irresistibly forward) by Jim Benz"Every moment of our life belongs to the present only for a moment"
--Arthur Schopenhauer, "On the Vanity of Existence"
Every evening we are poorer
by a day
We would perhaps
grow frantic
at the sight of this ebbing
away
of our short
span
of time
were we not
secretly conscious
in the profoundest
depths
of our being that we share
in the inexhaustible
well
of eternity
out of which
we can forever draw
new life

| Posted by George Hoerner on 08/29/11 at 09:13 AM Excellent Jim and most of us do prefer to hide from this eminent reality. It is, I believe, similar to our difficulty in dealing with the world's horrors. We may watch the news but like cancer we believe it always happens to some else. |
