true nature

by Maria Francesca

the bees circle and loop
around the blossoms on our orange tree,
dancing and whirling
while the hummingbirds frolic around
the feeder we hung for them.
the dog smiles happily at us,
his tongue dangling crazily
from his sharp-toothed grin

but the truth is
the bees are hard at work
and the hummingbirds are deadly serious
and the dog just needs a drink of water.

This is a cute lady and oh so true. We humans pass off so many of our feelings and thoughts to those who could care less.
