The Clock Is Ticking

by Joan Serratelli

Now that I am older,
I have come to the realization
that I need to live
My way

We ALL have regrets.
we've all sinned
Are we all going'to hell?

You cannot buy your way
into Heaven
Judgement Day may be tomorrow,
for all I know

NObody lives forever
I would not want to

But when all is said
and done
where do I go?

I've had my moments
happiness is not my strong suit
Yet I have experienced joy.
sorrow, and have had my share
of pain

I"ve paid
for my sins,
everyone does

Nobody gets a free ride

You play;
You pay
No truer words
were ever said

My parents gave me life
the rest was up to me
My screw ups were
mine;
I blame nobody else
I made my choices
right or wrong;
I take responsibilty
for my decisions

I will answer for them
and when do
I hope I am not
judged harshly

I think you're gonna be just fine. Tremendous introspection.
