daydreams

by Shonda Chrissonberry

he always wanted
a girl
who wore
absinthe flavored lip balm
and carried
a grudge for
all the pretty theives
who stole the boys at lunch

a girl
who knew
the sound of tori amos
as she sang of
little earthquakes
under the pink
and
boys for pele

a girl
who fastened her words
on the end of a rope
and delighted
when they pulled
at her very center

he always wanted

her

and it seems
he always will

Yes, it would seem so. I adore this Shonny!
