Machiavellian Girl (Part 2)

by Razel Davies

To match Her,
I'd be wise.
Misdirect all,
with my disguise.
From scheming desire,
I'm in a fever.
"It's double pleasure,
to deceive the deceiver"

Use the hammer,
then the anvil comes.
A Belarusian gambit,
The layman succumbs.
But she's no fool,
I'll need a new tool,
Go back to school,
Learn a new way to rule.

Turning my mind to,
the purest strategy-do.
I gained what I needed,
time to start the show.
And so I start my plan,
put it into motion.
My every word now,
becomes a love potion.

To her I speak,
She suspects little.
This deep mask of hers,
down I will whittle.
The battle'll be long,
but I'll discover her sin.
By long night's end,
Her heart I'll win.

Author's Note: Note 1- Quote in stanza 1 is from Niccolo Machiavelli. Note 2- The suffix "do" used in stanza 3 (strategy-do) is a Japanese suffix pronounced "doe", meaning "the way of". Note 3- In stanza 4 the phrase "deep mask", a reference to the philosopher Nietzsche.

It's hard, if not impossible to admit one's sins, but after a while, the mask comes off. You'll get there (IF you chose to)Just don't get hurt in the process. I loved your reference to Nietzsche. It fits. So well done- but I ALWAYS Love your work. For one so young, you are very wise.
