Prayer for strength

by Mo Couts

Father, I want to do right, yet I’m not feeling strong.
Please hold me tight and show me right from wrong.
I’m not a bad sheep, yet I’m being led astray.
I’m an aware sheep, that’s why I’m on my knees to pray.

Father, I want to listen to you, could you please speak louder?
I want to hear your message, I want to feel your power.
I want to make you proud, I want to do what’s best.
Father, if you guide me there, I will pass the test.

Father, I am well aware of the fact that I’m weak.
Please don’t let me fall, help me get steady on my feet.
Show me right steps and on that path I’ll go.
Weakness is what I feel, strength is what I want to know.

Author's Note: I’m not feeling particularly weak @ the moment, but someone I care deeply about unfortunately is feeling that way. It’s hard to be strong in tough situations, but…she’s a trooper—she’ll not only make it through, but will also manage it with grace. And, my thoughts, prayers, and warm wishes are always with her.
