Beyond the Dunes

by Marjorie Anne Reagan

Looking at that painting
the one we made love in front of
cried in front of
laughed and mmmmmmmmm

those dunes where you first spoke to me
sun over the ocean
so peaceful so serene

ocean reminding me
of so many things
your eyes
our love
the tears
and how many more i feel welling up
inside of me at the loss of you

your friends
with me
what a comfort they are
on my birthday
our friends

missing you so much
your sweet quiet ways and
gifts with no fan fare expected
how humble and kind you were

ocean, dunes, sun
behind the door on that front porch
is the love that was
beyond the dunes
floating up to the sun
is where our love remains

What a soothing and warm love poem. Nicely done.

The quiet warmth of this is so nicely done and very engaging, appealing. I really enjoyed it.
