HE by Amy Manningwhen asked what
his worst fear was
he said
he didn't know
it wasn't something
he thought about
he couldn't explain
why he felt
anything
he avoided difficult
thoughts & emotions
as well as being
alone
i came to the
realization
that the part of him
that was alive
vibrantly so
was asleep
and he fearfully
shhh!-ed
everything that might
disturb
resting life
inside
what a waste

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 09/17/11 at 06:02 AM I love the way "alone" ties to the end of the sentence before it, as well as to the one following. It's beautiful and brilliant and genius. |
