Lost in my head...
      forget just once or twice...
      maybe three times...
      and suddenly it returns with searing force...

Fading back and forth...
      between the darkness and the light...
      can't remember which is which...

Overcome by some urge...
      and I succumb...
      like nodding off...
      I lose the world for just a moment...
      completely engrossed in the ideas in my head...
      and suddenly jerk myself back into reality...
      this is not what I meant to be doing...
