To Be a Memory

by Kerowyn Rose

your eyes are
cloud covered oceans
they draw me in to where
I stand on the precipice of your lips
waiting to be carried
into the riptide of your smile
yet I find myself running now
from the waves that beckon me
into the depths of your mind.
as a memory, I would rather
ride the tiny air bubbles
churning in your heart;
in and out... in and out... in and out.
