Inevitable by Kate ZimmermanShe knows you won't read it
But somehow that's okay
It's the connections she swore she'd sever
And all the words she needed to say
Well, nobody took into account her paper heart
And the emptying of veins on a page
She will scrub until she sees blood but
No cleanliness fulfills her pain
Promising the moon and sky is worthless
They are as far away as they seem
She's sitting in a dark house all alone
Staring into a mirror that reflects her broken dreams
She whispers, "My wings are in shambles."
You know she means every word she cried
And the smile on her face stays through morning
She's walking around but she's died
But the tears she never lets fall
Form an immobile stone in her throat
And all the things you hear from her mouth
