The Marigolds Remember Your Name

by Michael Defries

It'll be not far from soon
that the marigolds sing your name
and the poppies praise your footsteps.

The azaleas remember your name
from the sound of your future;
a child enters your domain,

As a pyramid of your cascades
becomes the direction of light
only the sun knows and the
leaning of tulips in your garden.

There is wistfulness woven into the fabric of this, and it leaves a heady fragrance. Mmm.

Nice imagery and use of the flowers. Good stuff.

What a lovely poem! The flowers usage is just delightful.
