I'm A HACK

by Joan Serratelli

I was told that I had
no talent
as a writer

I'm a failure
as a Mother
a wife
and a totally
worthless human being

I am not allowed
to cook

I admit that I HATE cleaning.
but I have done it

I should have slept today
...that was MY mistake
...getting up

I am a hack
a person deviod of talent.

My writing speaks for
itself

Yes, yes it does...and it doesn't depict ANY of those things as being true. Your writing is full of wonderful things...just like you are.

...joan this is a gem. the end-all is til you and i [just] stop writing...and you speak to Everyman, yet 'tis wise and beautiful what you just said and the way you said it. i bow to your character-the residence of beauty. humbly leaving ... backwards and appreciative to have been at this gala, to the Queen! i have to say this is me reading a great pome.

...also, i wished i had penned this. the drift, the ideation, lock-step progression of shortcomings [of oneself] in life [as alwasys judged by the ephemeral others...many times just b.s. like an angry-marching soldier; lines breaks were/are delightful...carry it.
