fumble

by Ulyss Rubey

i dropped a name
in the grass
by the sea.
Fumbling i found
a personal pronoun
that i thought
belonged to me.

but now i wonder
if it was not me
i had discovered,
but the essence of a
lost lonesome lover,

who, still seeking
for herself, may find
me- worn and waiting,
though years have past
and life is waning.
