Dear God

by Mo Couts

I’m not sure where you are, but I hope that you can hear,
I’m turning to you, asking you to leave me with no fear.
I’m not sure where to go from here, or what I’m supposed to do,
The only thing I know for sure is it’s time to turn to You.
I’ve heard of the wonderful things you do for your kids,
I’m tired of running and I’ve already hid.
I want to come to you and ask you for your loving guiding hand,
I’m ready to be shown, even if I don’t understand.
I want to serve you, Lord, with every ounce of me,
I want for people to look and know that you’re the dad of me.

Author's Note: Was sitting and thinking, and this prayer came out of me. I think that the best thing we can do for ourselves is strive to be better...so, here I am, doing just that.
