Fear of Lying

by Richard Vince

We fear the truth as though it were
A predator: something to try to outrun
As though our lives depend upon it.

But how can we outrun what is
In our hearts?

We fear lying so much we create
An alternative truth; a safe truth
To distract us from the real one
We know is lurking there.

We prefer certain misery to the
Possibility of happiness, because
What we fear most of all is
Change.

So true and I am with the above comments. Harsh but Lovely (well, harsh to me as I hate change).
