night

by Mary Frances Spencer

moon half full
still shines down through
the black
as stars pin the sky
some of us awakening
a creative moment
we spin galaxies
on
nocturnal keyboards
supernova ideas radiating from
phosphorescent screens
electrical
fingers click square surfaces
eyes should sleep now
head needing pillow
night calls muse

verse slow steady
trickle twinkle
words fall and sparkle
this moment my favorite

late

Author's Note: I seem to find my creative moments late at night...anyone else??? (-: MFS

You described it so well, feels very familiar. I can't sleep until it's out of my head and on "paper". Heh. Thanks for this!

Sometimes. Heh. They certainly seem to be a great service to you.
