Secrets in starlight.

by Aaron Michael

i read your stars today.

they spoke of your love for them
and how once, before you were you,
there were traces in them
that ended with your fingerprints.

they spelled out a life spent staring
at heavens you had touched intimately,
as love touches love with flashes
of unyielding and impresses of shared narrative.

you've spoke to stars of me
and they remembered your voice
enough to flash unyielding
and impress a narrative
through silicon and electricity
and pure energy to the dirt at my feet.

even the smallest of wonders in you
dwarfs my soul and all it carries.
in your blink there are a thousand words
and i cannot pronounce any.
yet the stars know me, intimately,
like love touches child breathing
through his mother's body.
some secrets are not secreted forever
merely passing in starlight
for those who know how to read.

I read your stars today.

Stating the seemingly mundane through it's correlation with the esoteric. Hmmmmm. Poetry.
