Was it Boxing Day?

by Lori St. George

“Was it boxing day?
Did you roll up your sleeves?
Or did you roll up a cigarette?”

I push the keys
on my cell.

What the bloody hell?

I look into her eyes
I sigh.
I ride
that ache inside.
Welcoming her lies,
that fall from lips
reminding me of angel food cake.
What a frosting to take
and lick,
and love...
but wait.

“Wait, what did you say?”

She laughs.
She rocks.
Drunk on bubble bath
and cherry lollypops.
My Shirley Temple Temptress,
Rolls the 9.
Cuts the lines.
Shoots death up my spine.
And she is mine,
all mine.

“Lets make this quick.”

Light it up!
Make me sick.

Throw me off the overpass.
Chain me to railroad tracks.
Cut me with windshield glass.

"Trust me, its gonna last."

Go Get your knife.
Losing sight.

“That's the ground right?"...

I just wanted to feel something tonight.
yeah.
