I Killed The King

by Amy Manning

I've killed the grieving king
Who never had a chance to see his empire unfold
The bells rang with a small ting
Silenced by the death that no one foretold

I miss his stupid airs
I've never found his equal for spite
But he was inherently good and fair
Yet I still clenched my ugly claws tight
