1000s by Ryan Narcemercilessly canceling out
the robust effort of
one-thousand stomach crunches
& obtuse, stupid decorations;
stiff belly muscles,
practicing ;
one-thousand drink-heavy sobs
pouring out a glass of beer and dropping it promptly
to the floor,
outmatched;
one-thousand pleading, idiot gestures
one-thousand rehearsals of shame
a thousand variations of the same refusal,
& the humiliating memory of
crying hotly all the way home, tearing up yr picture into
eight cardboard-thick strips and promptly dropping them all
to the pavement,
outmatched,
broke.
