Scene at a Homeless Shelter

by Susan Q Tomas

A lot of sleeping people.
2 men playing chess.
Weathered faces.
“Would you like some tea and honey?”

Author's Note: I was at a homeless shelter in Denver the other day. It was through my church, and they offer job services, which is why I was there. It was interesting to say the least.

The image is certainly striking and really well captured.

Susan, we have such tainted views about the homeless. It's sad. You've given such an unbiased view of what is such a huge epidemic. Excellent. ~Michelle~

It leaves me with a certain type of feeling. It is definitely effective. Nice to read you again.

Calls attention to the fact of homeless shelters. The plight of the homeless is a blight on our nation.
