I wait
and eviscerate
what you say
and the way
that you say it.
We can't be friends,
we were barely lovers.
I was so bad for you
and you scarcely noticed it.
Out of my lack of respect
you lost your self-respect
at my beck and call.
I hurled your love
against the wall
of stone that was my heart.
When you did depart
that was exactly when
I wanted you.
We both tried
and so I lied
about wanting you.
You know today,
I'd do it all
exactly the same way.
But you won't have me
and I let you go.
This we all know is true.
So, my faceless
Facebook friend,
I "unfriend" you
and now only manage to
eviscerate you
in my poetry.

My wants and my needs
differ greatly.
