forgive me
if i'm not in the mood
for any camaraderie
or joyous celebration on this day

and do not take offense

we all have our personal demons
to battle and today mine
are charging full force

i shall quietly shut my door
and make it through
hopefully without stepping
on anyones toes

except for those
whom I wage war with
