the hurry?

by Charlie Morgan

so much of yesterday sleeps on my shoulders;
awakening in the middle of someone else's dream,
and i spend the night looking for the owner.

i hit the ground, alarmed by the jangle and dangling
thought to locate the owner of that wayard dream. one
that left me a calendar of up-coming life-attractions.

is was a dream by me but under a pseudonym i can't say;
written by a teen and all the sound and fury of that age
is dolefully handed out to all. i escaped to be an adult.

now, i wonder just what was the hurry?
