If I could be
anything
in this life,
God-fearing
would not be it.
Godly
would not be
another.
I just
get lost
at any cost
in those rituals
and routines
that appear in
any religion.
Been there,
done that.
(But threw away
the t-shirt.)
Why would you
fear anything you
would want
to hold dear
in this life
or any
presupposed
afterlife
for that matter.
Sounds like
a seriously
disfunctional
relationship
to me.
For a long time
I hid
behind a veil
of disbelief.
It has become
such a relief
to own up to all
that I simply
know
empirically
is not the truth.
So, for you,
believe as you must
your loss is your cost.
Cling to that hope
just don't emote
or try to force your belief system
on me.
It won't work
and you'll
feel that jerk
when I dispell
those supposed notions
that you hold as such
a righteous truth.
I mean, just how
do you explain
incest, dinosaurs,
cannibalism and the ilk?
Fall of man, indeed.
