Bloom by Richard VinceDo you wear black to mourn
The life you should have as
It passes away?
The smile is hiding around
A corner, just out of view,
Waiting to be coaxed into
The light outside.
Faded eyes see right through
The floor you sweep to
Dreams that live beyond
The world’s façade.
This small, lonely land
Of newspapers, cigarettes and
Surly customers was not
Meant for such as you.
I hope the Sun will find you
Soon, and bring that smile
Out of hiding, and make you
Bloom.

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 04/27/11 at 06:44 PM Richard, what a heartfelt wish for someone that may not see the sun on days it is shining. It's not even about one specific day or days, but more about the regret of a life passing, wishing it could have been otherwise. It's a darkness in the soul that makes the eyes believe there's no sun shining. ~Chelle~ |
