out there

by Charlie Morgan

the newscast was spewing; another day.
before noon already and knees hurt;

first edition of the Orwellian dictionary
hit the stands an hour ago; governments
were the first to pick-up copies;

the pony-express of love was gaining a limp;
space-time french-kisses the earth, warming it.
as i, in darkness of morn', listen to the Universe.

knowing that there is essence, meaning out there.

love the stanza about the Orwellian dictionary Charlie..so,so, so true! But i also love the optimism in the final lines. I cling to that foolhardiness myself and like holding on!
