Synchronicity {Through the Looking} by Richard PaezSynchronicity {Through the Looking}
Do you remember
when lightning split
(the sky
was (falling
into your arms
for the first (time
stood (still
you looked away –
I can’t forget
when thunder woke
(the night
was (falling
in love
for the first (time
will tell
me what to say –
You can’t recall
when storms cleared
(the sky
was (falling
to pieces
without (you
stood (still
I can’t wake up
today
isn’t any other day and
that night
wasn’t any other night
and I remember
(when lightning split (the sky was (falling into your arms for (the first time
when thunder woke (the night was (falling in love for (the first time
when storms cleared (the sky was (falling to pieces without (you
stood still, looked away, told me)
that I should wake up, that
it’s a poor sort of memory
that only works backwards
