watchin' women work by Charlie Morgankitchen talk; t.v. near-blaring;
kid-sponge at their feet, absorbing;
as three women change appearances
of the outside of the inside,
for now a lone musketeer, kid in tow;
living large now a teenager-word.
a bitter taste is transformed to lilac;
a freedom like no other, a child-blessing
with no cumbersome smiling while he lies to your face. 03/12/2011 Posted on 03/12/2011 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by George Hoerner on 03/14/11 at 12:45 AM I think lying has become epidemic or maybe I'm too cynical. But as House says, "everybody lies." I'm not sure I'd go that far but many people say what they think you want to hear so maybe we imprint it on our children. Nice write Charlie. |
